iPhone 4S – the best-selling smartphone in Japan, surpasses Android terminals without the right to call

The iPhone 4S terminal had very good sales in all the countries where it was recently launched by Apple, but in Japan the device humiliated the "competition" represented by Android smartphones. Two mobile phone operators from Japan sell the device and the demand for the new Apple terminal was impressive. Practically in Japan, the iPhone 4S terminal accounts for more than half of the smartphone sales in the first week of availability, while the Samsung Galaxy S II has a share of only 3.4% of sales.

  1. iPhone 4S 64GB (SoftBank) — 10.4%
  2. iPhone 4S 32GB (au/KDDI) — 10.3%
  3. iPhone 4S 64GB (au/KDDI) — 9,4%
  4. iPhone 4S 32GB (SoftBank) — 9.1%
  5. iPhone 4S 16GB (SoftBank) — 8.2%
  6. iPhone 4S 16GB (au/KDDI) — 6.3%
  7. Samsung Galaxy S II (NTT DoCoMo) — 3.4%
  8. Xperia acro (NTT DoCoMo) — 3.3%
  9. iPhone 4 16GB (SoftBank) — 2.3%
  10. Xperia acro (au/KDDI) — 2.1%
  11. iPhone 4 32GB (SoftBank) — 1.7%

The figures presented above only cover the sales of mobile phone operators, so not those of physical stores where of course the device would have sold just as well, but the same can be said about the rest of the terminals on the list. Practically, the iPhone 4S now makes the series of Android terminals available on the market so far forgotten, at least that's how things are in Japan according to those from BCN. Interestingly, the 64 GB version was the most sought after, even though it is the most expensive.
