Apple sells 100 times more tablets than Motorola in Q3 2011

Motorola last night announced financial results for Q3 2011 and in terms of tablet sales, the company had disappointing results. Only 100.000 units of Motorola Xoom were delivered to the company's partners, but it is not known how many of these devices were actually sold. Apple sold 11.1 million iPad 2 tablets, 100 times more than Motorola. The difference is normal, considering that Motorola Xoom was only the first attempt to build a tablet, but the difference also shows the preferences of consumers regarding this type of product.

Globally, around 4.5 million Android tablets were sold compared to 100.000 last year, but even so we are talking about half of the number of iPad 2 units sold only by Apple. It is clear that Android tablets are starting to reach the attention of consumers, no manufacturer is able to surpass the iPad 2, but it is good that new products appear on the market. I would like one of the producers to take heart, to make a "revolutionary" product without copying anything and through that product to bring a real competition to the iPad 2 tablet.
