The first applications compatible only with iOS 5 appear in the App Store

One of the main problems of owners of iDevices older than two years is the impossibility of installing some applications compatible only with a new version of iOS. For example, iPhone 3G owners could not install applications compatible only with iOS 4.3 in the spring, and now we already have the first applications compatible only with iOS 5. Their number is small, but soon more and more applications will be available in the App Store this kind and those who have not updated to the latest version of the operating system will not be able to install them.

The rationale behind this limitation in compatibility is simple: it is much easier to make an application only for a certain version of the operating system. Extending compatibility to old versions also involves a lot of coding work and some developers prefer not to do this in order to have the best possible application in terms of performance. Unfortunately, by the end of the year, new applications/games will be available that will not work on iOS 4, so it would be good to think about an upgrade to iOS 5, if you can do it.
