Apple patents new models of batteries and SSDs for MacBook

You all know that the company's engineers from Cupertino work hard to develop new technologies for our iDevices, but also that Apple regularly receives patents for some of its research team's products. Today I have for you new patents for new models of batteries and SSDs that would be implemented in the MacBooks produced by Apple. To begin with, Apple designed a new battery model for Macs, a battery that would have 6 components compared to the 4 available in current products. It is clear that Apple wants to significantly improve the battery autonomy of its own Macs, but it remains to be seen how long it will take until it implements them in its products.

The new battery design clearly illustrates six enclosed battery components in contrast to the current four found in today's Macbooks. If anything, it would strongly suggest that a lot more battery life is coming to future MacBooks. On paper it should translate to 33% more uptime. As is the case with "design patents" in both the US and China, the detailing of said patents are extremely limited to that of the actual set of illustrations and a scant descriptor. In this case we are generously provided with the descriptor of "electronic device" - that truly confirms nothing.

Regarding the configuration of SSDs, not much is known for now. From the drawings presented by Apple to the authorities in Hong Kong that published the patents, it appears that in the future MacBooks we will see new configurations of SSDs, perhaps with a larger capacity and perhaps faster. Unfortunately, many of Apple's technologies never leave the testing stage and it is very possible that in this case things will be similar, although I for one would be happy to see Macs with a much better autonomy.
