ASUS Transformer Prime – the first Android tablet with autonomy as good as iPad 2

ASUS Transformer Prime is the first Android tablet equipped with a quad-core processor and although the performances for the time being, they are not that good because of Android, on the autonomy side, I was impressed. Those from Engadget made one review the tablet and of course they tested the autonomy of the battery and you can see the result of the tests done by them in the image above. The tablet was able to work for 10 hours and 17 minutes on battery only, just 9 minutes less than Apple's iPad 2 tablet.

Equipped with a dock, which has another battery included, the ASUS tablet was able to reach 16 hours and 34 minutes of autonomy, a real record I think. I am pleasantly impressed to see that an Android tablet finally manages to exceed the 10-hour autonomy threshold imposed by the iPad 2 tablet, and if we add the dock, then we have a product that is capable of running for three quarters of a day without interruption. I hope that other manufacturers of Android tablets will follow the example of those from ASUS and make equally good products in order to finally motivate Apple to improve theirs.
