Apple is trying to close the largest website of pirated applications in the world

For several months, Apple has been working intensively to block the Apptrackr.org website, the largest resource of pirated applications. Site administrators announced today that part of the servers supporting the site's infrastructure have been moved to countries where copyright laws do not exist. They say that for several months Apple has been sending notifications to the sites where the pirated applications are hosted, asking for their deletion, and we all know how convincing the American company's lawyers are. Those from AppTrackr managed to keep their website active, but Apple seems extremely determined to shut them down.

For now, Apptrackr has decided to put ads in the mobile version of the site to generate money to cover the costs of moving servers to countries where the law doesn't really matter. Until recently, Apple was extremely passive in relation to the piracy phenomenon, but now the company is actively fighting against it, and it might win the cause if it really wants this. Even the latest untethered jailbreak solution is not so friendly with such practices, but there things are simpler.

In conclusion, Apple has started the fight against piracy, it remains to be seen whether it will be able to win it or not.
