Next week we will see the first quad core smartphones

CES 2012 will begin next week in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the world's largest electronic product developers will be present to reveal to the whole world what devices they have prepared for consumers in 2012. Also next week, we may also see the first quad-core smartphones built by HTC or even Samsung. Of course, the devices will run Android 4.0, but that is less important because what is really important is the fact that these devices will set the trend of 2012 and those that will follow.

Mobile terminals will switch this year to chips based on quad-core processors, even if Apple might not do it. So far the Asus Transformer Prime tablet has shown us that a quad-core processor is overkill for a tablet, failing to convince too many users that the processing power offered by Nvidia Tegra 3 is worth giving up an iPad 2 tablet. It will be interesting CES 2012, Apple is certainly following everything that is presented there and I hope that Android terminal manufacturers will come up with interesting devices that motivate the Apple company to amaze us this year.
