Asus Transformer Prime TF700T is the second tablet with a 1080p screen presented at CES 2012

Although I did not expect to see tablets with such high resolutions so quickly, here it is after the Acer tablet comes one from Asus which is also equipped with a 1080p screen. Asus Transformer Prime TF700T is the name of the tablet and it comes just a few months away from Transformer Prime, the first quad-core tablet launched on the market. Asus releases new tablet models as fast as Samsung releases phones and I don't know how many of its customers will be satisfied with this. Returning to the tablet, we are talking about a quad-core one equipped with the Nvidia Tegra 3 chip, a Super IPS+ screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels plus a battery with an autonomy of almost 10 hours:

  • 10.1" (1920×1200) Super IPS+ panel, with a 178 degree viewing angle
  • 1.3 GHz Quad core Cortex A9 NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor (with 12 core GeForce GPU)
  • 8MP rear camera with autofocus, LED Flash, and 1080P recording and 2MP front facing camera with HD video chat
  • 32GB/64GB internal memory, plus 8GB of ASUS Web Storage
  • WLAN 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR technology
  • 2-in-1 3.5mm jack, micro-HDMI output, and microSD card reader
  • 25WHr lithium-polymer battery (should have the same battery life as the TF201)
  • 263 x 180.8 x 8.3mm and 586g

If there were still people who did not believe in the launch of an iPad tablet with Retina Display, the products presented so far at CES 2012 should make it clear that Apple must bring a truly new product to the market. I don't think that Apple will keep the iPad 3 with the same screen with 1024 x 768 resolution this year as well because it will lose a lot of customers following such a decision.
