MacBook Airs will soon be equipped with Samsung SSDs with almost double the speed

At CES 2012 those from 9to5mac had the opportunity to talk with some representatives of the Samsung company regarding the SSDs implemented by Apple in their own MacBook Airs. At the moment, Samsung's 470 series SSD model is present in Apple's MacBook Airs, but it seems that that model is old and the Asian company has stopped producing it for some time. Instead, Samsung already delivers to Apple SSDs from the 830 series, which theoretically have almost double the speed compared to those of the previous generation that exist in the current MacBook Airs.

Those from Samsung confirmed for 9to5mac that the 830 series SSDs have been delivered to Apple since last year, so a MacBook Air bought now could have an SSD with much better performance than those of an Air bought in the summer. The bad part is that you cannot know which SSD is hidden in a MacBook Air until you buy it, if you have the opportunity to check the SSD ID of an Air that you are going to buy, then it is good to know that the name APPLE SSD SM128C it is for the 470 series of Samsung SSDs.

Below you have a benchmark made for the 830 series on the left and the 470 on the right, and you can see that the speed is almost double for the new SSD model.
