Looking at the traffic statistics of the iDevice.ro forum I discovered something interesting for all those who are waiting for a new tablet in March. A device named suggestively iPad HD is included in the list of devices that accessed the iDevice.ro forum in January and it is presented separately from the iPhone/iPod Touch and the current iPad tablets. Until now, only the iPad tablet (i.e. iPad 1 and iPad 2) was present in the graphics, but the newer iPad HD appears there and I assume that it refers to an iPad tablet equipped with Retina Display, otherwise the name would be meaningless.
The statistics come from the application Tapatalk which some of you know, so we are talking about retrieving the iPad HD ID from an application available in the App Store. Considering that the respective application takes the ID of the iDevices when opening, I think that a prototype of the iPad tablet was used to access the forum and if the ID registered by the application is correct then that tablet should have a Retina Display. Unfortunately, I couldn't get more information than what you see and I can't tell you that the iPad 3 will have a Retina screen, but the way it recognizes the application and the analytics system in it is interesting, especially as it it has not been presented anywhere.
