Hands-Free Control is a tweak a few weeks ago in Cydia that allows iDevice owners to use the personal assistant Siri without activating it using the Home button of their own iDevice. The tweak runs a process all the time in the background and by simply saying the word Siri in the microphone of your terminal you will activate the personal assistant from iOS 5. Of course you can say whole commands to Siri if they start with her name and no matter what command you say she will be run if Siri is configured to do so. Last night the developer of the tweak released version 3.0 in Cydia and it brings bug fixes, improvements to performance and battery consumption, new themes plus much more:
- Now with Themes! Including Trekkie! Siri can now respond with Trekkie sounds and more! Go to "Theme" in settings!

- Fixed lock/unlock sound volume levels.
The most interesting part of Hands-Free Control is the fact that it also works with Siri installed on old iDevices, so if you used Spire to install Siri, you will be able to activate the assistant by simply saying its name. Unfortunately, Hands-Free does not improve Siri's functionality in any way, it does not help the device to connect to Apple's servers and it does not install Siri. Hands-Free Control is available for $2.99 in Cydia.
