In 2009, Apple launched the App Store in which it had 500 applications and which recorded 10 million downloads in a single weekend. The decision of those from Apple influenced those from RIM who 4 months later opened BlackBerry App World just one day before the launch of the Android Market. Now we have no less than 5 important application stores, but besides them there are several tens or hundreds of others and through them billions of applications are downloaded monthly on mobile terminals all over the world.
