SpeakEvents is a very interesting tweak released this evening in Cydia and it will help you stop reading every notification message received on your iDevice. SpeakEvents is able to read any notification messages received through Notifications Center (SMS, Twitter/Facebook messages, etc.), it is able to read battery status warning messages plus much more. SpeakEvents has a dedicated menu in the Settings application in iOS and there you can set the time interval in which the tweak is active and the applications for which you use it. You have to choose your applications carefully because the tweak will only speak the notification messages from those applications and will completely ignore the rest.

This tweak will make your device speak so you will no longer need to manually check who is writing you a message. It's a good companion to Siri, but Siri is not required.

What it can say:

  • battery levels (when the battery is under 10% or charging)
  • every new hour
  • emails
  • iMessages and SMS
  • app notifications

Features:

  • works on every device with iOS 5+
  • configurable options in Settings
  • automatic language detection
  • support for multiple languages (en, de, pl, cz, es, ru, more to come)
  • select apps for which to speak notifications
  • allowed time range (to avoid waking you up)
  • does not speak in silent mode (won't disturb you)
  • enable/disable reading of message bodies

SpeakEvents is available in Cydia's BigBoss repo and a license costs a little over $2.
