A Samsung manager claims that Apple is preparing the launch of an iPad tablet with a 7.85-inch screen

The past months have brought us a whole series of rumors trying to convince us that Apple is going to launch an iPad tablet with a 7.85 inch screen. A bank report who deals with the investments of the Samsung company suggests exactly the same thing and now a manager of the Asian company stated for a South Korean publication that Apple will release an iPad tablet with a smaller screen, probably 7.85 inches, by the end of the year. The statements came during an interview discussing the record amount of 11 billion dollars that Apple would pay in 2012 to Samsung for components for iDevices.

"The contract is expected to rise to $11 billion by the end of this year as Apple is planning to release a smaller iPad, probably with a 7.85-inch screen, and to sell more of its MacBook Air PCs using Samsung's faster solid state drive ( SSD) storage," the official said. Apple CEO Tim Cook agreed with Samsung Electronics Chief Operating Officer (COO) Lee Jay-yong to use the Korean firm's components until the end of 2014 during Lee's visit to his office in Cupertino, Calif., late last year.

Considering that we are talking about an anonymous manager of the Samsung company, it is very possible that we have in front of us information that is as false as possible, although it corroborates with other rumors that appeared in the past. Until recently, the launch of an iPad tablet with a smaller screen seemed impossible, but the recent wave of rumors confirms that Apple is at least testing such a product.
