This week I talked to you about Sparrow, a very interesting application that has the role of offering an alternative worthy of consideration for the Mail application in iOS. Unfortunately, the Sparrow application has a very, very big minus and it has to do with the impossibility of sending push notifications when a new email is received. The developers of the application explained that at the moment the implementation of this system is impossible, but that in the future there would be a chance that it would be available for users.
iPhone Jailbreak tweak for the popular iPhone app Sparrow, which enables eMail push notification when the app is in the background making Sparrow a real replacement for the stock Mail application. After a long anticipation the iPhone application "Sparrow" was released with a disappointing limitation through Apple's restrictions: Users are not notified of new mails if the application is not running. The jailbreak tweak "Sparrow Push" enables this functionality using IMAP idle and makes Sparrow a complete replacement for the stock mail client on the iPhone. Sparrow Push will also do it's best to restart Sparrow if it is quit or you restart your iPhone.

Tweak your is conceived by the developers of 3GUnrestrictor and adds to the application the option to send Push notifications to users when a new email is received. The tweak is specially designed not to greatly affect the battery life and with its help I will replace the Mail application, if the tweak works as its developers present it. Sparrow Push will be available in Cydia for $3.99.
In addition to the tweak, you also need to buy the Sparrow application, which costs €2.39.
