In a single weekend, Apple sold almost a quarter of the total number of Android tablets sold in over a year

At the end of February Andy Rubin, "the father of Android OS", announces that 12 million tablets have been activated so far by Google. The figure is very small considering that Android tablets have been on the market for more than a year and a half, but for now only so many customers can attract tablets that run this operating system. Making a comparison with last night's announcement by Apple we learn that 3 million iPad 3 tablets sold in one weekend represent almost a quarter of the total number of Android tablets activated by Google in more than a year and a half. I say "almost" because about 3 weeks have passed since Andy Rubin's announcement and I assume that about 1/200.000 tablets have been activated.

In fact, Apple sold in 3 days as much as toti manufacturers of Android tablets for more than half a year and that says a lot about the popularity of the product of the company from Cupertino. Considering the "successful" start, it is very possible to see approximately 20 million iPad 3 tablets sold by Apple in the next 3 months, especially since the product will be available in more and more countries.
