The iMac 2012 could have a new design and an anti-reflective screen

This year the Apple company could launch a new model of the iMac which could come with a modified design according to an Asian publication. The new product would probably be launched in the second half of this year and the G-Tech company would produce the anti-reflective screens for the Apple company. This type of screens can only be ordered in customized MacBook Pros directly on the Apple website, but it seems that G-Tech will be the company that will produce many more units that will be introduced in the possible new model of the iMac.

G-Tech is ramping up its production capacity of cover glass from 1.8 million units a month currently to three million units in 2012 as the company is likely to take up 25-30% of total cover glass orders for Apple's iPads in the year, according to an industry estimate.

G-Tech is also expected to supply AR (anti-reflective) glass solutions for Apple's all-in-one (AIO) PCs with the new products to also serve as a growth driver for G-Tech, indicated industry sources.

The current design of the iMac has remained unchanged since 2009 and 2012 could be the year of change, but at the moment it is not known how exactly Apple will redesign everything. There is a good chance that the entire case will be a bit thinner, but for now no one can confirm this. Many changes are announced for Apple's Macs, but for now not even a single rumor related to design changes has been even partially confirmed, so you shouldn't rely too much on something like that.
