Software Update Killer helps you hide the button to install OTA updates in iOS

Software Update Killer is a tweak released last evening in Cydia and allows you to hide notifications regarding OTA updates available for your iOS iDevices. These notifications appear when an OTA update is available for your terminal and they don't disappear until you do that update, but if you have a jailbreak then you probably won't be in a hurry to do this. Software Update Killer is not the first tweak of this kind available in Cydia, but unlike other similar tweaks, it even hides the button that allows you to install the OTA Update from Settings>General>Software Update.

Software Update Killer will:

  • Disable the Download and install button in the settings app
  • Remove all Badges from within the Settings App
  • Remove the Settings App Badge

You will still have the ability to check for an update manually from within the settings app. However, the download and install button is disabled for your protection.

Software Update Killer is available for free in Cydia, but it only works for iOS 5. To return everything to normal, you must uninstall the tweak from Cydia.
