Facebook Messenger for iPad will soon be released in the App Store, it will allow users to make video calls

Facebook Messenger is an application for iOS that allows users of the Facebook social network to interact with their friends and chat with them through text messages. The application has been available for iPhone/iPod Touch terminals for several months, but it seems that Facebook is also preparing a version for the iPad tablet that will give us the opportunity to initiate video calls. Those from 9to5mac they tested a beta version of the application, in the images in this article you can see it, and basically it is a larger version of the one for the iPhone and allows you to chat with friends, initiate group discussions, see your friends' location on the map plus many others.

Of course, the application also offers Push notifications for received messages, and in general you will not have a different experience from the one already offered by the iPhone application. Both the iPhone app and the new iPad version should allow users to initiate video calls using Skype, and theoretically the iPhone app should be released in the summer. It is not known when the version for the iPad tablet will be available, but as soon as it appears in the App Store I will let you know.
