iFile is the best utility for managing the iOS files of our iDevices. Using iFile we can create, edit, move, delete any files from iOS and for now there is no other application that offers a similar functionality, at least not in Cydia. Because iFile is so popular, its developer is constantly improving it and in the video clip above we have a demonstration of the new FTP client that is going to be implemented. The iFile developer says that version 1.7.0 of the application will bring, among other things:

  • Open a new tab with the directory listing of an FTP server (a NAS in this case).
  • Creation of a folder on the FTP server.
  • Copy/paste between local file system and FTP server and vice versa.
  • Deletion (single file and hierarchical) of files and folders on FTP server.

Practically soon we will be able to access FTP servers using the new client and we will be able to manipulate everything there with ease. iFile cannot be installed for free from Cydia, but before paying you have the option to test the application for a few days.
