T-Mobile is preparing its 4G network for the new iPhone

Although for now we know that there are quite high chances that the new iPhone will be launched in the fall of this year, no one knows 100% for sure what news it will bring. Those from T-Mobile want to be cautious, maybe they have some confidential information from Apple, and they are preparing a 4G network that will also work on the iPhone terminal. I am of course talking about the 4G networks on 1900 MHz that exist in the USA at the moment, the 4G networks on which the iPhone will also work, but unfortunately this functionality will only be available there.

A nice side benefit of the refarming effort is that our 4G network will be compatible with a broader range of devices, including the iPhone. The other important benefit of our network modernization effort is the coverage improvements it will deliver, especially when it comes to in-home coverage. As we refarm our 1900 spectrum, we will continue to fully support our customers with 2G devices.

Even so, the inclusion of support for 4G networks in the future iPhone makes us understand that Apple will offer compatibility with these networks in other countries in the future, and in Romania this is not necessary considering that our major mobile operators have not yet they have such publicly available infrastructure. I think that in the fall of 2013 or maybe only in 2014 we will have an iPhone compatible with the frequencies of the 4G bands in Romania, so don't get too excited about this 4G connectivity of the new iPhone.
