iOS 5.1.1 shows us that Apple will allow making FaceTime calls via 3G

Using FaceTime from iOS 5.1.1 today, I noticed an interesting error that makes us understand that Apple will allow us to make this type of calls even through a 3G connection at some point. Being called by someone, although I was connected to a 3G data network, when I tried to close the 3G connection I was greeted by the message in the image above. Normally I should not have been able to be called if I was connected to the 3G network, but the call initiated to me did not stop, but on my iPhone I only received a warning that I had a missed FaceTime call.

The error displayed when I tried to disable 3G while I was on a call should not have appeared and it clearly demonstrates that Apple is testing FaceTime on 3G connections. Of course we knew this for some time, Apple still did not activate the option to make FaceTime calls via 3G, but the existence of this error in iOS 5.1.1 is just further proof that one day the option will be available for us.
