Is iOS easier to modify than Android OS?

iOS and Android OS are the most popular operating systems for mobile terminals and some of the biggest scandals in the industry are born around them. Both operating systems are very popular, both have hundreds of millions of mobile terminals running them, but how easy are they to modify? At first glance, Android is the right choice, but if we study the problem more carefully, we might come to a completely different conclusion. Those from Lifehacker they dealt with the problem and claim that iOS is the easiest to customize and tweak.

The main reason behind this decision is the fragmentation of the Android OS operating system. They say that Android through root offers a little more freedom than iOS through jailbreak, but the big problem is that Android has hundreds of terminals and just as many ROMs. Custom ROMs are available in such a large number that you wouldn't know what to choose, and many of them are made only for certain Android terminals and of course not all models get the same attention. Choosing a ROM can be difficult and there is a possibility that a user will change several ROMs until they reach the right one, so we are talking about a wonderful, long process, which involves resoftwares after resoftwares.

Going further, they say that another big problem caused by fragmentation is related to the tweaks that can be used on Android OS. There are many mobile terminals, many ROMs, many tweaks and the bad part would be that these tweaks would not work with any ROM, so you have to be very careful what and how you install. However, the problem is not limited to that because, in their opinion, there is too much fragmentation in the process of publishing/finding tweaks, they being available in too many sources, not reaching everyone's attention when needed. Users would have to pay attention to several websites and would not have a centralized system where they would find everything.

On iOS, things are simpler, jailbreak solutions are universal, they are extremely simple now, and Cydia offers everyone everything they need. Most of the tweaks are compatible with the latest version of iOS, but the best part is that in Cydia, this centralized hub of tweaks and applications, you can find everything you need with a simple search. On iOS, things are much simpler and you can basically do the same things, but without getting complicated with custom ROMs and other things.

Now I'm not saying that iOS is easier to modify or not, but what do you think?
