During last evening the "father of Android", Andy Rubin, announced through your account on Twitter that 900.000 Android terminals are activated daily. Here we are talking about new activations of Android terminals, so almost 1 million such terminals are sold globally every day. You should not consider these numbers as exclusive to smartphones, because most of these activations are for mid-end mobile phones, that is, cheap terminals with few functions, but with Android OS.
More than 3 months ago Andy Rubin confirms that 850.000 Android terminals are activated daily, so we are not talking about too much growth, but even so almost 30 million Android terminals are sold every month. Apple activates fewer iDevices because it has fewer models available on the market and at tonight's WWDC we should find out some official figures from the Cupertino company.
