Those from TomTom have confirmed they have already concluded a licensing contract with Apple for the provision of maps and accessory services for the Maps application from iOS 6, but they are not the only information providers. In the Maps application, Apple has a mention specifying that TomTom and other companies were used to build the map system, and there we have a link that directs us to this page. On the respective page, Apple lists a whole series of suppliers that helped it develop the maps and the FlyOver system of the Maps application in iOS 6, so we are talking about data obtained from a multitude of sources.
For now the Maps application is not quite as good as everyone expects, here I explained why, but probably in the future the map system will be improved.
