ModBook announces the release of a tablet running OX S Mountain Lion

ModBook is a company that a few years ago launched a tablet that ran Windows OS, but also Mac OS X, and in a recent campaign started on Facebook, the company seems to understand that it works on a tablet running OS X. Only a few pictures are available, they show a tablet, a stylus and the dashboard available in OS X, so clear references are made to the possibility of running OS X on that device. Of course, for now no one knows for sure which version of OS X the tablet could run, but by the end of this year we should have an answer to this question.

If this company is really going to release a tablet that runs OS X, then you shouldn't expect it to be cheap. Those from ModBook produce tablets from the "pro" series, that is, tablets that are mainly addressed to professionals who have enough money to purchase such products and who do not use them for games or running multimedia applications. We will find out very soon what ModBook will produce and I for one am extremely interested to see if we will finally have a good tablet running OS X.

UPDATE: The developer company of ModBook Pro presented the first details about the tablet and it seems that there will be two versions that will have 13.3 inch screens with 1280 x 800 resolution, and the difference between the tablets will be made by the internal components. Both have similar configurations to the MacBook Pros launched by Apple just two weeks ago, both will offer up to 7 hours of use, both run OS X Mountain Lion, but the purchase price could approach $2000, so you have a choice between such a tablet and a real MacBook Pro.

The Modbook Pro's configurable base system includes a 2.5GHz dual core Intel® Core™ i5 processor or 2.9GHz dual core Intel Core i7 processor, up to 16GB of RAM, a 2.5–inch SATA drive (up to 1TB HDD or up to 960GB SSD ), an 8X SuperDrive® DVD burner, an Intel HD Graphics 4000 chipset, 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 wireless connectivity capability. Modbook Pro has a state-of-the-art digitizer from the industry leader in pen tablet technology, Wacom®, offering 512 levels of pen pressure sensitivity — more than any other tablet computer on the market. And the Modbook Pro's pen interface features tough and scratch-resistant ForceGlass™, providing an etched, paper-emulating drawing and writing surface... Included with the Modbook Pro is a best-inclass digitizer pen with two programmable side buttons and digital eraser. The pen is securely stowed in the built-in, magnetic catch-equipped pen garage.
