Apple sold 17 million of the 24.8 million tablets sold in Q2 2012

The company Strategy Analytics analyzed the figures regarding sales of tablets in Q2 2012 and PRESENTS a very interesting informative table that gives us an overview of the number of tablets sold in the last 3 months. Apple alone sold 17 million iPad tablets, all Android tablet manufacturers (including those who produce clones in Asia) sold 7.3 million tablets, Microsoft sold 300.000 tablets and the rest of the manufacturers sold another 300.000 tablets that have various systems functional operation on them.

The interesting story revolves around the iPad tablet and the horde of Android tablets because in both cases the number of units sold almost doubled compared to the same period last year, but only the iPad's market share increased by 5.3%. The market share of Android tablets remained at 29.3%, while Microsoft lost 2.8% of the market share held in the same period last year, and the rest of the manufacturers lost 3.5% of the market share held in Q2 2011. The tablet market has increased by 66.8% compared to the same period last year and those from Apple are the big winners here because their growth was double that of Android tablet manufacturers.
