At last month's Google I/O, Google announced that they will update the Google Earth application and include 3D modules of cities around the world, and during this day the updated application will be available in the App Store. Just like the system flyOver the application Maps a iOS 6, the new version of Google Earth will display the 3D modules only on iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and iPad 3, so not all users will be able to enjoy it. To begin with, Google Earth will display 14 regions/cities, but by the end of the year 300 million people will be covered by the new 3D module.

Google today is updating its Google Earth app on Apple's platform to include the same 3D imagery it showed off in early June. That same feature rolled out to users on Google's Android in late June.

iOS users are getting those same 14 regions, including Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area, Boston and others. As Google adds more 3D cities to its database, both those platforms will get them at the same time.

We will find out how good the whole system will be tonight when the application update is going to be released in the App Store.
