Almost all manufacturers of mobile terminals presented their financial results for Q2 2012 in the USA as well we have a surprise extremely interesting. It seems that there the sales of Android terminals have decreased instead of increasing and in Q2 2012 the number of units sold is almost 2 million less than the one recorded in the same period last year. The loss of Android seems to have been the growth of the iPhone because the difference between this year and last year is exactly 2 million units and that generated a large increase in market share.
The iPhone market share increased by exactly 10% compared to Q2 2011, while the Android OS market share decreased by 4.3%, but RIM is not doing any better either as it lost 4% of the market share . Overall, the smartphone market decreased by 5.4% in the US in Q2 2012, although very interesting Android terminals were launched. Apple is in a completely different situation than Android smartphone manufacturers because the company from Cupertino registered an increase of approximately 34% to the detriment of its direct competitors.
Given that iPhone 5 is to be launched probably on September 21, it is expected that the sales of Android terminals will increase only in Q3 2012.
