COCO – a simple and useful gamepad for iPhone and iPad (Video)

To the long list of gamepads for iPhone we are adding from today as well COCO, a simple and intuitive device that is currently in a financing process through the kickstarter website. COCO is practically a case made in the form of a gamepad, the iPhone being inserted into this case and feeding the physical buttons available in it. The case has the buttons you normally find in a gamepad and they work without problems, but only in a limited set of games.

Although initially I only talked about the iPhone, I have to tell you that the COCO gamepad works as well with the tablet iPad, this being the characteristic by which it differs from the rest of the similar products available on the market. The bad part is that only 31 games are compatible with it, most of them are not great at all, but the developers promise good things in the future. COCO needs a very large amount to be financed, but personally I don't think it will reach that point.

If COCO does reach the market, it will be available for only $35. Now I am curious to know if you would ever be willing to purchase such a gamepad.

  1. OFFTOPIC sorry, I need urgent advice, I want to restore the Ipad 3, I got Ios 5.1.1, from the website, even shi from Apple, shift+restore same error with both "pad cannot restore because the firmware file is not compatible” any suggestions? Please! thank you

  2. @pwned, why don't you connect it to itunes and simply press Restore? (everything is done automatically...)

If it does not connect to the PC, try to put it in DFU Mode (search on YouTube) and then use shift+restore

PS: That error is because you downloaded the software for another iPad, there are 3 types - for normal iPad, with 3G or with CDMA; they are not interchangeable, you can find them all on felixbruns.de
