launching Crab generated a "hysteria" among users and manufacturers of mobile terminals, some being interested in controlling their devices through voice commands, others not knowing how to improve the rudimentary systems available on the market. From this race for the development of voice command recognition systems, the winners were English/German/French and Japanese speakers, the most important systems of this kind being compatible with these languages from the start.
If you are a Romanian speaker, you will quickly notice that no system will recognize what you speak, but that does not mean that there are no applications capable of doing this. Applications that recognize your language and words cannot control your iDevice, but they allow you to dictate texts or perform searches on search engines. I'm talking here about Dragon Dictation si Dragon Quest, two applications launched a few months ago in Romania. The applications are developed by the company Nuance, the one whose algorithms are also used by Apple with the personal assistant Crab.
These applications are, by far, the best in terms of recognizing the Romanian language and writing after dictation, and if you try them you will quickly realize why I am right. Both applications are available for free, both have a limited set of functions and none of them can control your iDevice, but based on the system included in them, Apple could help Siri learn the Romanian language. I wouldn't hold out much hope that this will happen in the near future, but until then you have two powerful applications that you can use without any problems. Both applications are universal, so you can use them on any iDevice.
