Auto.ro is an application that I presented to you a few months ago when I told you that it is useful to any driver in Romania, but also to any pedestrian. The application has a lot of interesting functions that you can see in the video clip above, but recently it was updated and offers you the opportunity to see public parking lots of general interest as well. Romanians can identify parking lots all over the country through the mobile phone
Bucharest, September 10, 2012 – Romanian drivers can identify all public parking lots of general use throughout the country via their mobile phone, according to the Auto.ro application.
Romanian drivers increasingly access the car services they need directly from their mobile phone. In order to support them, Auto.ro has expanded the Parking section of the mobile application, offering the location on the map of the parking lots closest to where they are.
If until now drivers mostly wanted to locate gas stations, car washes, taxis, vulcanizations and services via mobile phone, with the expansion of the Parking section made with the support offered by local authorities, they will be able to locate all existing parking lots in Romania, according to the Auto.ro application.
"It's a useful idea. The application helps Bucharest drivers in congested traffic and pressed for time who must find a safe parking space in a few seconds. With just one click on the mobile phone, drivers can find out which is the nearest parking place, without any hassle. Bucharest currently has almost 8.000 parking spaces, and by the end of this year, Bucharest City Hall will inaugurate another 1.600 spaces in the capital. for Mayor General Sorin Oprescu, who set out in this mandate to improve the life of the Bucharest driver in traffic", said Alina Roman, Director General of the Bucharest Roads Administration.
"I responded positively to the initiative of those from Auto.ro regarding the provision of the information necessary to identify public parking lots within the radius of Constanța Municipality. We are convinced that the Parking service within the Auto.ro application will mark an important step in increasing the level of information and comfort offered to Romanian drivers", said Farcaș Cristinel Viorel, Director General of SCIL Confort Urban Constanța.
Mobile app technology makes it easy for drivers to access a wide range of car services they may need anywhere in the country. The main car services accessed by more than 110.000 mobile phone owners are: petrol stations, vulcanisation, car washes, services, taxis, roadside assistance, promotions on car services offered and parking lots.
"The degree of use, the high number of downloads and positive reviews confirm the fact that Romanian drivers have quickly adapted to the facilities offered by the Auto.ro application based on automotive services. To strengthen this belief, we expanded the Parking section with the support received from the local authorities who provided us with the official lists of parking lots throughout the country, and we thank them for their support", said Bogdan Axinia, General Manager of Auto.ro.
