iPhone 5 components cost $199 according to iSuppli

Last week I told you all the components of the iPhone 5 terminal would cost approximately $167But a new calculation made by iSuppli it makes us understand that in reality Apple would pay $199 for the components and another $8 for their assembly. These costs are purely informative and probably do not reflect the reality behind the production costs of such a terminal because Apple can obtain even lower prices for their purchase.

The new iPhone 5 carries a bill of materials (BOM) of $199.00 for the low-end model with 16Gbytes of NAND flash memory, according to a preliminary virtual teardown conducted by the IHS iSuppli Teardown Analysis Service. When the $8.00 manufacturing cost is added in, the cost to produce the iPhone 5 rises to $207.00. For the 32Gbyte version of the iPhone 5, the BOM cost increases to $209.00, while the 64Gbyte version is estimated at $230.00, as presented in the table below.

iPhone 4S components cost $188 last year, this year Apple would pay $11 more for RAM, processor, modem, Wi-Fi chip, etc.
