A UK company will offer users the option to cover their iPhone 5 terminals with 24k gold

iPhone 5 it is considered by many to be a premium, expensive product that is accessible only to those with money, and a British company aims to prove that some owners of iPhone terminals do not look at money. For them, there will soon be a new service and it involves the gold blowing of the case and the side bands. A company with a representative office in Dubai Mall offers a new service which rewards users to gold-blow the aluminum side bands and the iPhone 5 case, partially protecting them from scratches, but turning them into objects that attract anyone's attention.

Of course, the price of such eccentricity is high, but if you want to be in the attention of the whole world, then you must not miss the opportunity to take advantage of this service.

  1. Yes, a bit strange..compared to how Nokia 8800 Gold Arte did it, the difference is too big..probably this is the difference between "from the factory" and aftermarket

  2. Hello, I also have a "problem". I bought my new iPad yesterday, I put it on charge at 10 in the evening and in the morning I had 88% battery. Now I put it on charge at 21:30 (I emptied it from all) and at this time (23:25 p.m.) it has 21%. Will it be defective? The iPad 2 charges in a maximum of 4 full hours. Do you have this "problem", or is it supposed to do that? Let's walk with the extension cord after us ? :)

  3. I have not seen a bigger tyganie than this, but of course they will be willing for something like this. I wouldn't be surprised to see something like this even in Romania at a manelist 😀

  4. I don't understand why you shout that it's a pan?... I don't see it as a material for jewelry but as a very good element, many sockets are blown with gold why? Come on, you know what the hell is a frying pan, I think it's better like this than with aluminum, much better protected with gold leaf

  5. @Radycal that's how Romanians are... Jealous to the core, and besides that, they're also stupid! (excuse the language). You go out in a civilized country or forget about people with money and jewelry... If you consider a watch, a bracelet or in this case a phone blown with gold to be "gypsy", then I consider you a...

  6. For all the ignorant people above who say that it will scratch harder, I want to remind them of a chemistry lesson from the 24th grade, namely that XNUMXK gold is extremely malleable and scratches much easier. It also has other properties such as being a superconductor or reflecting heat extremely well.
    So pan and that's it!
I for one would blow it with forged steel and apply a layer of varnish if possible.

  7. If a company has decided to make such cases, it means that there is a demand! And then what vb, be healthy who is willing to buy something like this and who likes to hold such a wire in his hand... But I think that, considering the problem with the black paint on the side stripes, someone would be successful if they would sandblast and give them unpainted back on the phone, at least until Apple thinks to do something about it

  8. You made fun of yourself through a string of words that will resemble a phrase, masking with it your lack of fulfillment in life. This device is not practically a child's toy and therefore a fine gold coating is of better quality than plastic sheets. In addition, it gives it a look, not as you call it "tiganela", you can call it a sign of appreciation and respect.

  9. @radycal: there always has to be someone on the forum who says "those who can't reach the grapes, say they are sour", right? Even if you paid me, I wouldn't buy something like that, sorry, I would buy it to resell it for gold...

  10. well, I don't know if you saw the episode of mythbusters when they test the LINE-X (a material that is put in the back of pick-ups and which is mega resistant). I would "blow up" the iPhone with something like this, only that its thickness would probably increase considerably. :)))))

  11. I also found 300 euros of 18 k gold in Cyprus :))) it seems stupid to me, I gave 300 shs on the phone and I give 300 for gold and there are so many possibilities to stay without it 🙂

  12. 1. I don't like it! When I saw it, I automatically thought of the gypsies from the movie White Cat Black Cat (as if that's what it was called)
    2. if you want "value and respect" (to quote the very wise Radical) you don't need a gold-plated phone. I understand having a piece of jewelry, a watch, etc. blown from gold.
The Rolls Royce is not made of gold and I guarantee you that it makes a better impression than an iPhone blown with gold.

It's like arguing with a pensioner who has finished enjoying the last episode of her favorite telenovela. Only with such people, quality, as radicus erectus marsupialus says, represents aesthetics and that's it, for me quality means durability. I put a full stop because the genetics coming from your parents who procreated you in the tent do not take you further (sorry zaone, if I disturb please delete this)
@ACH Many companies are created just to test the market, and their life is very short. In Japan, there are companies that make condoms with vibrators at the top and lights on the edge in the shape of balls, so a Christmas tree. Would you use something like this? So the world invents fools only to take the eyes of the RADICALS in the infected and manipulative thinking that exists not only in our country.

gold is not a superconductor, at least not at ordinary temperatures.
Yes, it is malleable, ductile and all that, but it is more resistant than aluminum. But not only the aluminum oxide obtained by anodizing. Respectively, if someone considers the case of an iPad easy to scratch (for example), then that blown gold will scratch even more easily.

Regarding the iphone 5 case, I still can't understand why apple didn't print the final color in the anodizing process, like for example it's done on the htc one s (from what I understand). There, the same finish (anodized aluminum) appears, but directly with the final color, the color pigments being "trapped" in the porous layer of aluminum oxide on the surface.
Instead, Apple simply paints the entire oxide layer with normal paint. It's about the worst option I can think of.

  15. A firm/company has and is studying a market. Since apple didn't offer this, it's because they didn't think it was good for Apple's image. For example, Nokia released something like this and it looks much better than something after market as is the case here. They are thought from the factory.

If you discover superconductivity at room temperature, you have the Nobel prize assured! Anyway, it is used in electrical networks for its properties as a very good electrical conductor, but I think I expressed myself wrongly. It's a joke among physicists: "superconductivity was discovered at room temperature... in Siberia".
Returning to the topic, I remember what a sectioned aluminum bar looks like, I mean raw aluminum, how it changes color. If the paint was taken off and varnish was applied over freshly cleaned aluminum, how would it look?

  17. Yes, what an evolution. the gypsies arrived on the net even on idevice. but would he have an idevice? sure yes but counterfeit. you've seen them walking around with their turbans in their hands and holding them up only with the apple up, "to see the world". horrible species of wild animals. Regarding the iPhone in the images above, it is beautiful. It's nice when you have something to pair it with because it can't be worn like that anyway. first of all, you must have good shoes with a sole of about half a meter with pointed tips and skinned at the tips. pants must be "peach" wide. for connoisseurs. if you don't have a belt, you can tie them with a rope or a wire that you find around the yard. if you've passed the first bulau, you put on a shirt with long, rolled-up sleeves, but it must have a leopard print. if you haven't made a bun or if you've only made one, put on a tank top with the back cut out so that the mermaids and ladies can be seen. on your hands you pull on some brass bracelets stuffed with whatever, on your neck you put the bling-bling on your head, the hat or the cap and, for those who wear it, a hood. and finally. what do we have in hand? we have the blown iPhone that screams not the hands but the quality gypsy music as if they have standardized it too. .. they brought it to European standards:) by the way, their aurolacs are now called Eurolacs. to take it. hell

  18. I also draw attention to those who walk around with their pockets:)) under no circumstances would I give money for such a thing no matter how much I was a billionaire.

  19. @ Bogdan

at "absolute 0 degrees" many things are superconductors

I don't know what's under the paint on the iPhone 5. Specifically, whether they've anodized the aluminum or not. Because if it is not, in contact with the air it will oxidize badly and unevenly.

On the macbook air, when the battery cover was scratched, I lightly sanded the respective area, put some plasticine around the scratch to form an area in which to pour some sulfuric acid with which under direct current (a 12V alde at 2-3 amperes) to redo the anodization . The already anodized areas are not affected, the polished area is anodized. With a little experience, it comes out like new and it was easy for me to keep the mac flawless.
Until I discovered the method, I had the bad idea to try the tip with the whole lower case (the metal part) and the acid destroyed part of the internal structure which, although it looked like it, was not made of aluminum. I had to order another case from ebay 😛
