The TouchWiz developed by Samsung contains a vulnerability that allows erasing the entire phone with a simple command (Video)

TouchWiz is the interface designed by Samsung for Android in its own terminals as well contain a very dangerous vulnerability that allows hackers to wipe a user's entire terminal by simply running a command. This is a function introduced especially for mobile phone operators who can delete all the data of a terminal by entering a code in the dialer, but an SMS or even a web frame can act in exactly the same way. In the video clip above we have a demonstration of this vulnerability and unfortunately it can be run on Samsung Galaxy S II/III and other less important terminals.

Unfortunately, the problem is serious because accessing a simple website can lead to the deletion of data from a phone, and Samsung must quickly think of a method by which it can solve it. Such problems exist on any platform, none is perfect, but it is good to know about them.

  1. I agree with you...all platforms have problems...but I can't believe that the appearance of this information on the market is so...coincidental! The moment is well chosen... there are more and more negative opinions about iPhone 5!

  2. anyway, you made a backup copy for the contents of the phone... I don't see what the problem is...
normally, it is a security measure to be able to delete the contents of the phone in case it is stolen. you go to the settings, enter the code you want, set it, and through an SMS you can block the phone completely or delete its content. if you block it, you also have an unlocking code, also set by you and you unlock it. great thing...most phones have this option, it's nothing new.

You are hard to bear sarcasm... All your comments are full of insulting, pejorative words towards Samsung. I'm not a Samsung fan, but I'm tired of reading your 'plastic' ironies. Until another one, that polycarbonate case doesn't peel off, and the paint doesn't fall off at the first touch with your fingernail. I don't understand why your comments are not moderated…

  4. Why is this article relevant on a website dedicated to Apple products? I think it's anti-advertising, especially now when there are small problems with the iPhone 5. Was it absolutely necessary to find problems with other manufacturers and post them on the website? Owners of Apple products I don't think are interested in SGS3.

  5. @RG if you are not interested in the topic / news, don't read it. Omu does what he wants with his site, and first of all it shows an advantage of iOS in relation to vulnerability. Those of you who were born with an Apple in your hand... typical Romanian.

  6. This was exactly the purpose of zaone, to make anti-advertising for those from Samsung. The iPhone 5 has huge problems, and to get rid of it, they sent Lu' Zaone the clip to post on his blog. Of course, in exchange for an exorbitant amount of money. NOT

  7. I am not a follower of the principle "let the neighbor's goat die". And that's why I think that attacks should not be made to the detriment of someone (person, company, object, etc.).
@ASC: typically Romanian is the attack at the expense of others, anti-advertising, verbal confrontations between iPhone-Samsung users. Would it be OK for you to post on the website the various manufacturing problems or software problems from manufacturers such as HTC, LG, etc. just for to put the iPhone in a favorable light?
@zaone: Does it hurt? ;)) I neither lose nor gain anything because of a Samsung mistake. This is exactly what I was talking about... I notice that some people really take it personally when it comes to mobile phones. I bet with you that in 2-3 years, Iphone and SGS3 will remain a memory. Others will appear. So the "pain" you are talking about is absolutely unfounded.

  8. Yes, iPhone 5 and SGS 3 will remain a memory, they will then be replaced by iPhone 7/8 and SGS 5/6. Otherwise, I see that you attacked yourself from the article, so.... leave it as it is already seen.

  9. The article itself is not problematic, it provides useful information for SGS holders. But I don't think that was your goal. I mentioned before what attacked me. Finally, it is not necessary to continue with discussions like this.

  10. I saw that NwRadu also wrote about this today and I tested it, I have an SGS3 and nothing happens, it just starts the dialer and that's it, but the code doesn't run. It should be noted that I have original software, but in the case of rooted terminals, the situation may be different.
