Here's how you can install Cydia 1.1.8 on iDevices that don't run iOS 6

In redsn0w 0.9.15 beta 1 a new version of the application was included Cydia, it being compatible with iOS 6 and being currently unavailable to those who do not have this version of the operating system installed on their terminals. Cydia 1.1.8 is the version available in the new redsn0w, it is not installed by other jailbreak solutions and you cannot update it through Cydia, but you can install it without problems if you have already jailbroken. Installing this version of Cydia is very simple, you can do it without problems on iOS 5, and below you have all the explanations.

  • Install iFile from Cydia.
  • open this link in Safari, or the browser you use to browse the Internet.
  • In the upper right part of the screen you will have a button called Open in iFile which must be pressed.
  • In iFile, select the package and choose the option Installer then reset (reboot) your terminal.

After restarting you will have Cydia 1.1.8 installed.
