The launch of an Apple TV is imminent according to American analysts

Although WWDC 2012 should have brought us an Apple TV, over 5 months have passed since that event and the product still hasn't arrived on the market. Throwing straws on an almost extinguished fire, the people from Jeffries talk about the imminent launch of an Apple TV, we assume it is a TV and not the Apple TV already on the market, and about the fact that a TV service provider company that test the product. The company that tests the Apple TV does it only for the internet streaming segment, so we could talk about a product that would work only in this way, or about an update for the current Apple TV.

Our discussions with industry contacts suggest that at least one major N. American MSO is working to estimate how much additional capacity may be needed for a new Apple device on their broadband data network. We believe this potentially suggests an imminent launch of the Apple TV, a positive development for ARRIS, who is directly exposed to data traffic growth from incremental IP video streams on cable networks.

To be honest, updating the Apple TV to allow watching TV channels would make more sense than releasing a TV, but at the moment we only have rumors.
