BrightVol is a tweak launched last night in Cydia, and with its help you can control the brightness of your iDevice screen using the volume buttons. The functionality of the buttons is activated by pressing the buttons simultaneously every time you want to change the brightness of the screen, it automatically deactivates after 30 seconds after pressing. The tweak works with the Activator, so you can change the activation method from the settings menu.
The iPhone and iPod touch can't easily change the brightness of the screen without opening the Settings app. This tweak creates a simple way to change the brightness: with the volume buttons. Simply activate the Activator action (set to pressing both volume buttons by default) and the volume controls will then change the brightness instead. Activate the action again or wait 30 seconds and the buttons will control volume again.
