IR-Blue – a thermal scanner for your iPhone (Video)

The world of accessories for iDevices will soon be richer IR-Blue, a terminal scanner specially made for iPhones or iPad tablets. In the video clip above you have presented the device and you notice that it displays on the iPhone screen a terminal scan of the surface towards which it is pointed, but together with it you also see a scan of the residual heat left in that surface. The idea is interesting and the developers of the device say that it will be affordable in terms of price.

The IR-Blue lets you see the temperature of things around you. It uses a 64 zone non-contact InfraRed sensor array to read the temperature of what you are viewing. The IR-Blue connects using Bluetooth to your iPhone or Android device to show the temperature readings as colors on the screen. Available in a Bluetooth 4.0 version for iPhone 4S, 5, the New iPads and the 5th gen iPod Touch. Also available in a Bluetooth 2.1 version for Android 2.3 and newer devices with at least 480 x 800 resolution displays.

Using a special application you will be able to see all the images recorded by IR-Blue, you will be able to capture pictures and you will be able to see various information about the displayed images, so everything is as well thought out as possible. Although for now IR-Blue is only a Kickstarter project, it has raised the necessary funding, its developers will receive it in 2 weeks and the product will reach the market in the following months.
