Last week I told you that a Mac application called CarrierEditor allows you to change the logo of the operator of your iPhone, carrier logo, without doing jailbreak. Since then and until today, the version for Windows of the program, named CustomCarrierLogo, and now most of you can use it in the same way. The program only works on iPhones and iPad 3G tablets, these being the only ones capable of connecting to a network of a mobile phone operator and it doesn't matter what device you have, the process works on all of them.
Here you can find the tutorial for Mac, below are the steps for Windows, everything is absolutely identical.
- Download CustomCarrierLogo following this link;
- Open the program;
- Press the button Let's Get Started;
- Navigate in the Settings application of iOS to Settings> General> About, where you will search for the text Carrier and enter the number next to that field, without writing the name of the mobile operator;
- After entering the Carrier Bundle version number, you must choose your device type and mobile operator. Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to test the application, so I do not know if it is compatible with our operators;
- In the same menu you have the options to choose the carrier logo you will use. The program will give you the opportunity to use both logos with images and logos with text, so it is up to you to use what you want. If you have Carrier Logos in your computer you can use them in the program, but otherwise you can use the ones provided by the developers. After choosing the desired carrier logo, press the button Create IPCC Carrier Bundle and the files will be generated on the desktop, the application displaying both the original carrier bundle and the modified one there.
After you have made the desired Carrier Bundle, open iTunes, and holding down the shift button (for Windows) and the option key (for Mac) on the keyboard, use the mouse to click on the Restore option of iTunes. After you click on that button, iTunes will open a window in which you will navigate to the desktop and select the new Carrier Bundle, a file with the extension .ipcc, which will be automatically loaded into the terminal. This process does not restore the device if you follow it exactly as described here. If you accidentally press the Restore button without holding down a keyboard button, immediately disconnect the terminal from the PC to avoid performing a restore.
By resetting the terminal, you will see the new Carrier Logo and the process ends here.
