The iPad 5 could be launched in October, the iPhone 5S will have a design similar to the iPhone 5

I heard from many quarters that iPad 5 it would be released on the market in March and the tablet would have a design similar to that of iPad Mini, and only part of this rumor could be true in the end. Those from iLounge, who had true rumors in the past, claim that iPad 5 will be released only in October of this year and that the tablet will really have a design similar to that of iPad Mini. The tablet is thinner and smaller than the iPad 4, it has extremely thin screen edges, and practically what you see in the image above should reach our hands in the fall of this year.

What does it look like? Well, it's a lot smaller than one would guess was possible: in portrait orientation, picture a 9.7" screen with virtually no left or right bezels, and only enough space above and below the screen to accommodate the mandatory camera and Home Button elements. Beyond that, it's noticeably thinner, as well, which is to say that the fifth-generation iPad will be smaller in every dimension than its predecessors. As it will have the same chamfered edges and curves, calling it a "stretched iPad mini" is very close to entirely accurate. The critical question: "how will Apple accomplish this?"

It seems that at the moment Apple has not yet finalized the design of the tablet and the components that would be included in it, something that was usually done in January, so a launch in March seems unlikely. Moving on to iPhone 5S we know that the device will have the same design as iPhone 5, but it will have a slightly larger LED flash, the change being somewhat unusual, considering that the world did not complain about the current LED. The iPhone 5S would arrive on the market this year together with a cheap iPhone that would have a case made of plastic, China being the market for which Apple specifically thought of this device.

Our sources have also shared a few small new details on the upcoming iPhone lineup. The iPhone 5S will apparently look very much like the iPhone 5, but with a larger rear flash, and is indeed coming this year. Also planned for a 2013 release is Apple's "low-cost" plastic-bodied iPhone, which is being developed with China Mobile in mind: the government-owned telecom company has over 700 million subscribers.

In the end it remains iPhone Math, which has a 4.7-inch screen and is currently in the prototype phase, so it will not be launched on the market in 2013, but maybe not even in 2014. It is not yet known when the iPhone 5S and the cheap iPhone will arrive in stores, but a summer release seems likely.

Addressing the so-called "iPhone Math"—hinted by one source as a mistranslation of "iPhone +"—we've been told that this is another new model and in early prototyping stages, certainly not expected in 2013. It supposedly has a 4.7" screen, at least for the time being. It might never make it to market, and plenty could change before it does. Consider it Apple's "just in case / Plan B" hedge against ever-growing Android phone screen sizes.
