Google Maps for iOS was launched at the end of last year in App Store by Google in the idea of giving iDevice owners the opportunity to use the system Google Maps to browse using your own iDevices. The application was developed after Apple decided to exclude the native Google Maps application from iOS 6 and implemented its own map system, and now it has been updated. Version 1.1 is available for download from the App Store and it brings the possibility to search through Google Contacts for addresses, the possibility to search for local businesses, the option to choose the display of distances in kilometers or miles and:
- Search your Google Contacts; sign in to see your saved addresses when you search for friends and family by name.
- Search for local places quickly by selecting popular categories such as restaurants, pubs, cafés, petrol stations, etc.
- Choose between kilometers or miles for your preferred distance units.
- Note that some features may not be available in all countries.
Google Maps 1.1 is available in universal format in the App Store.
