The market share of the iPad tablet would fall below that of Android by the end of the year

Making a forecast for 2013 and one for the end of 2017, those from IDC claim that Android tablets will surpass tablets iPad in terms of market share, even this year. According to them, at the end of this year Android tablets would have a market share of 48.8%, while tablets iPad would have a market share of 46%, 5% lower than the one held at the end of 2012. This increase in the market share of Android tablets would be generated by the very good sales of cheap tablets, a market in which iPad Mini dominates without right of appeal.

Half of the tablets sold in Q1 2013 would have had a screen with a diagonal smaller than 8 inches, a sign that users are no longer interested in large and expensive tablets. Apple has the iPad Mini which is doing very well in this segment, the tablet would be updated by the end of this year and the new version would generate a serious increase in sales for the American company.
