WhatsApp Messenger is without a doubt the most popular paid application in App Store Romania, occupying the first position almost permanently for more than a year. The application is used by millions of people around the world, billions of messages are sent daily, and its creators is intending to changes its usage policy. On platforms Android si Windows Phone the application is available for free, but a usage fee of $0.99 is charged annually, and in iOS this strategy is to be implemented.
Although the application is now available at the price of €0.89 in the App Store, soon it will be offered for free, and after the first year of use users will have to pay the same amount to be able to access it further. The amount will have to be paid annually for the services to remain active, the same being implemented in the other platforms. The idea of those from WhatsApp will of course be successful, because the amount is small and people will pay it with pleasure, considering the popularity of the application.
It is not yet known when this plan will be implemented and how users who bought the application less than a year ago will be treated, but as soon as details appear I will let you know.
