iRadio would be launched by Apple in the summer of this year

iRadio, the audio streaming service with which Apple intends to compete Pandora si Spotify, would be launched during this summer, the company from Cupertino preparing the event together with its partners. Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), has been working for several years on this system that would give us the opportunity to listen to personalized radio stations through an Internet connection, it seems to have succeeded to convince the big US record companies that the project is worth promoting, and together with iPhone 5S si iOS 7 could launch iRadio.

Much has been written about Apple's plan to launch a Pandora-esque service this year. Now multiple music industry insiders have told The Verge that significant progress has been made in the talks with two of the top labels: Universal and Warner. One of the sources said "iRadio is coming. There's no doubt about it anymore." Apple is pushing hard for a summertime launch.

I told you a few months ago that Apple is already testing the system, then the company had failed to conclude contracts with all the major record companies, but this problem is getting closer to being solved and the launch service. Although iRadio seems like a very interesting product, the problem is that in Romania we may not be able to use it, something that could happen in many other areas around the world. We don't even have any iTunes Match, which has been available for more than a year for other Apple customers, so iRadio will be just a new useful function that the Romanian legislative system will keep away from us.
