Google will compete with Game Center with its own service

Game Center is a service launched by Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), more than two years ago, allowing iDevice owners to keep track of their progress in games, to get bonuses in games, to challenge their friends in online games and much more. Although Game Center is so old, for now the people from Google have not rushed to launch a competitor, but Google I/Othe future could bring exactly what the market needs. Google Play Games it would be called the Google service, it would partially offer the same functionality previously mentioned for Game Center, but it would be available exclusively on the platform Android.

  • Game invites. For now, it seems that the invite system is pretty closely tied to Google+.
  • Matchmaking
  • Save syncing (to maintain your game saves between devices and installs)
  • There's some stuff in there for both real-time and turn-based multiplayer, suggesting that Google might be taking some of the weight of making a multiplayer game off the developer.
  • In-Game chat
  • Achievements
  • Leaderboards

Apart from what I have already told you, Google Play Games would allow users to save the progress made in the games and users would be able to access an internal chat. Although many have asked Apple to offer a similar functionality for Game Center, the American company has not shown much interest in implementing such services, but maybe Google Play Games will bring FaceTime Chat or Text Chat to Game Center- the for iDevices.
