Last week we told you that during tomorrow the App Store will reach 50 billion downloads and this turns out to be completely true. At the moment, just under 20 million downloads separate us from the magic number and somewhere during the night it will be reached, a lucky person will win a iTunes Gift Card in the amount of $10.000 if he registers the download with the number of 50 billion. Together with him, 50 other people will win one each iTunes Gift Card in the amount of $500 under the same conditions, and some application developers put other interesting prizes up for grabs.
To mark the event, Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), has already started uploading the thank-you promotional materials to its servers, and in the images in this article you can see two of them. They will be uploaded by Apple employees until tomorrow, and their display will be done after the 50 billion downloads have been registered.
