iOS and Android OS represented over 92% of smartphone sales in Q1 2013

iOS si AndroidOS are the most popular operating systems in the world, and the cumulative sales of terminals running them represented over 92% of total smartphone sales in Q1 2013. If you will forget in the images in this article, you will notice that iOS represented only a little over 17% of sales, while Android represented 75%, the difference between them being normal considering the fact that there are so many manufacturers of Android terminals and only Apple with iOS.

The number of iOS and Android OS terminals sold in Q1 2013 increased by almost 60% compared to the same period last year, reaching 199.5 million units, compared to 125.4 million units. Practically, the market grew enormously compared to the same period last year, but the sales of Android terminals generated this growth, Apple managing to sell only 2 million iPhones more than in Q1 2012. It is unlikely that Apple will ever manages to equal Android in terms of market share, the same can be said about Microsoft, Nokia or BlackBerry.
