The market share of iPhones drops by 5% in Europe, Apple keeps the second position in the list of manufacturers

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), had a better Q1 2013 than the one recorded in the same period last year, but its achievements were surpassed by those of its direct competitors and this affected the growth recorded in the markets in many areas around the globe. If in the US the market share of iPhones increased significantly in Q1 2013, in Europe Apple lost 5% of the market share held by the terminals iPhone, all to the detriment of terminal manufacturers Android. Having a market share of 25% in the past, Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), it now has a market share of only 20%, representing sales of approximately 6.2 million units in 3 months.

Comparing with Samsung, the Koreans have sold more and account for almost half of all smartphone sales in Europe, followed by those from Sony who registered a spectacular increase in Q1 2013. Despite this drop in share of the market, Apple registered a 12% increase in sales and kept the second position in the top of smartphone sellers, but this will not last forever under the same conditions. Finally, I will tell you that Android has a market share of 69% in Europe, while iOS has a market share of only 20%.
