IYesterday I told you that Apple acquired the Canadian company Locationary in an effort to solve some of the problems Apple Maps, but also to offer new, updated functions, partially available now. With apps for iOS and Android OS, HopStop offers information from over 750 cities around the globe, with over 2 million monthly users. Practically using their application you can quickly get directions for the shortest navigation routes on foot, by car, by bike, by metro, by bus/tram, etc. Apple Maps offers some of these functions, but the system is imperfect and many users have complained about being misdirected by it, so Apple intends to improve it.
HopStop is a very good start, but it will take several months until Apple manages to implement all the company's information in its system.
