Apple acquires HopStop to improve Apple Maps

IYesterday I told you that Apple acquired the Canadian company Locationary in an effort to solve some of the problems Apple Maps, but also to offer new, updated functions, partially available now. Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), would have liked to purchase the famous Waze service as well, but Google took it before them, so Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), ales to buy the HopStop company. Similar to Waze, those from HopStop offers a system for directing users to locations using public transport systems, pedestrian routes, cyclist routes, metro routes and if you wish, you can also receive the routes used by taxis.

New mapping software Apple debuted in September with the iPhone 5 has been faulted for getting users lost and for its lack of public transportation directions. HopStop shows users in more than 500 cities the fastest way to travel by foot, bike, subway and car.

Practically using their application you can quickly get directions for the shortest navigation routes on foot, by car, by bike, by metro, by bus/tram, etc. Apple Maps offers some of these functions, but the system is imperfect and many users have complained about being misdirected by it, so Apple intends to improve it.

HopStop is a very good start, but it will take several months until Apple manages to implement all the company's information in its system.
